Wayamba Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WCCI) established as pioneering regional chamber in the North & Western Province in 1993 under the Companies Act no 17 of 1982 by an eminent group of entrepreneurs and businessmen to promote trade, investment and industries in the region. Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry of Sri Lanka facilitated to establish the Wayamba Chamber and now it operates as an independent body. Over the years the membership was grown and currently the chamber has 413 members. It represents corporate, individual, business organizations and trade associations of the North & Western Province.
Wayamba Chamber of Commerce & Industry offers wide range of business development services to the members. Such as decimating of trade and investment information, business meditation, organizing seminars, workshops and training programs, monthly news bulletin, organizing foreign trade delegations, providing business development and professional development courses through the business school.
Organizing trade delegations and missions was one of significant business development activities of the chamber. In this process the chamber organized trade delegations to the Canton trade fair during the past several years. This programme helps to explore new business opportunities, trade links technology transfer for regional business community and strengthen the business relations with Chinese.
